A brief overview of the Sarai Bespoke suit process:

Our office is located in Gastown, Vancouver and appointments are made by request only. The bespoke process begins by discussing the purpose of your garment as well as the style you are looking for. We then assess the various fabrics we have from renowned mills in Italy and England to locate the perfect one. We currently carry over 25 fabric mills from Vitale Barberis Canonico, Dormeuil, Ariston, Cerruti, Zegna, Holland & Sherry, Scabal, Huddersfield, Loro Piana, and more. Once a fabric is selected, we begin the design process where we determine the appropriate and most flattering construction type for your garment - accounting for details such as the shoulders, lapels, pockets, buttons, lining, stitching, etc. We then begin the fitting process where our master tailor will collect over three dozen measurements to ensure you receive a unique garment created for you.
Difference between Bespoke and Made-to-Measure (MTM) Suits:

The difference between Bespoke and MTM (Made-to-Measure) is that we start from scratch when the fabric arrives. Made-to-measure refers to a cut taken from a pre-set pattern that has been adjusted to the client’s body. Often the work is done away from the tailoring house in a workshop. At Style by Sarai, the fabric is cut specifically to our clients' measurements only. Therefore, we do not have any existing pattern/mold that we are basing the fit on - which is what you will find when purchasing an off-the-rack or MTM suit/tuxedo. Sarai Bespoke suit fabrics come from renowned mills in England or Italy. They are customized and tailored in Vancouver, British Columbia.
How long does a consultation take?:
Bespoke suit consultations, fabric selection, and measurements take 1 to 1.5 hours on average.
Average cost of bespoke clothing?:
Our suits vary in price depending on the type of construction to the fabric mill they are coming from and the composition (wool, linen, cotton, silk, cashmere, etc.). Typically our suits range from $2,950 to $4,000. Blazers and cocktail jackets as a stand alone order would generally be in the $1,750 to $2,500 range. Dress shirts range between $375 to $420 on average.
How long does it take to make a Bespoke Suit?:
After our first fitting, it takes approximately 5 to 6 weeks until we have your second fitting. Any minor alterations that are needed to find the ideal fit are done within the week. We comfortably deliver bespoke suits between 7 to 8 weeks.
