This fall Jason Sarai of Style by Sarai and Sunita of Padda Table Smarts have created a partnership with the Rights of Passage program at Covenant House Vancouver to make a difference in the lives of 6 youths. Jason and Sunita will be mentoring 6 youths in Vancouver looking to enter the workforce by providing them with guidance on professional appearance and communication in the workforce. In doing so, they will all be given tailored and customized formalwear from the suit drive, which will then be fitted, tailored and customized by the Style by Sarai team. Following will be a workshop where Jason and Sunita will hold a workshop to personally teach them their strengths in image consulting, dining etiquette and conducting one self in social settings to network and prepare for interviews. Read the features on the cause on The Province or The Vancouver Sun:

"Q. Your new partnership with Rights of Passage will see tailored suits given to those in need. How did the partnership come about?

A. I’m a big believer in giving back, whether that be through your area of specialization, business products or financial contributions. Already being a part through 1KARMA (Sarai’s charity co-founded by Riaz Meghji of Breakfast Television), I thought that I could also donate time and services to Covenant House that we offer our existing consulting clients of Style by Sarai. With lifestyle, image and style consulting workshops, I reached out to a dining etiquette specialist, Sunita Padda, owner and founder of Table Smarts (www.tablesmarts.ca). Being that both of our business provide skills that can have a lasting impact, it was a perfect partnership to offer the youth of Rights of Passage. Through Sunita’s work and business relationship at Terminal City Club, we were able to confirm their involvement in providing a venue for us to offer our lifestyle workshop."

TableSmarts: Out of the prestigious Terminal City Club and Vancouver Golf Club, TableSmarts teaches Dining Etiquette and Table Manners to children and adults. Sunita Padda, teacher and founder, has been educated in Dining Etiquette by Patricia Napier-Fitzgerald of The Etiquette School of New York as well as in The Art of the Table by the world-renowned Tamiko Zablith at the Minding Manners School in London, England.

Raised in a British family and spending part of her schooling career attending a private school in England, English table manners became imbedded in Sunita’s everyday dining experiences from an early age. As an educator

teaching at both private and public schools throughout Vancouver, Sunita noticed a void in the table manners of Vancouver children. To combine her passion for teaching with the hopes of promoting proper manners, Sunita became educated in Dining Etiquette, taking courses based in New York and London while completing her Masters in Education in Curriculum and Instruction.

As a Masters level teacher in Curriculum and Instruction, Sunita uses her teaching skills to create dynamic lessons that engage students and provide the highest level of learning.
