CARTIER'S FIFTH AVE GRAND OPENING IN NYC

The opportunity to attend Cartier’s Fifth Avenue Mansion Grand Opening in New York this fall was an unforgettable experience. This celebration was held in honour of the opening for Cartier’s Fifth Avenue Mansion after its complete renovation during NYFW. It truly lived up to its expectations as the “Party of the Decade” as every detail shined in true Cartier fashion, with class and elegance.

It was an humbling experience to be in the presence of influencers and world renowned celebrities such as Nick Wooster, Iris Apfel, Olivia Palermo, Lewis Hamilton, Martha Stewart, Katie Holmes, to name a few. I was fortunate to have attended the private Cartier event at the Pitti palazzo in Florence, Italy, during Pitti Uomo 90 this past June for the unveiling of the Cartier Drive watch. There I met Nick Wooster the first time but didn't have the opportunity to properly connect. Luckily I bumped into him again during this party in New York City. This was just a fillip to what made the night special and unforgettable. Although the guest list was clearly constructed with intention, everyone in the room was treated equally the same. All guests were enjoying themselves, their company and a fantastic evening.

The party space which was held across the street, was an older building converted into a Cartier-esque club just for the evening. The particular attention to detail from every aspect of the atmosphere including the cocktail list, décor and ambience of the space had everyone attending the party completely living in the moment. We relaxed, enjoyed comfort foods and performances by Ellie Goulding and Questlove. The entire night is one to remember, from the uniformed footmen who guarded the entrance, to the red carpet that reached out far enough to look as if it was never ending.

The next morning, my wife and I were invited to attend a private tour of the Fifth Avenue Mansion. It was an honour to attend this tour due to the select amount of invites. To describe it as luxurious would be an understatement because it was absolutely breathtaking. The level of execution on details was clearly visible to anyone who walked through. This is a building that was exchanged for an extraordinary pearl necklace in 1917. Now, every aspect of this space has been constructed and renovated with four floors of salons that represent the brand’s connections to its most noted clients, such as Elizabeth Taylor. I was also stunned by the thought Cartier put into making sure it built a relationship with its guests, and along with that, they made it a priority to ensure we were enjoying our experience. The significance of this mansion shines through the architecture that created the vision that was imagined for it and that’s what makes this building unique.

Being able to witness and participate in the grand opening of Cartier’s Fifth Avenue Mansion will be a memory my wife and I will cherish for years to come.
